Facebook Used As Evidence in Divorce Cases

Posted on December 23rd, 2009 No Comments

Facebook, a social network website designed to help people connect with friends online, is being increasingly cited as evidence in divorce cases. On the website, people make certain information public, including conversations and photographs, which in some cases can provide support to the claim of infidelity.

One law firm in the UK says that almost 20% of current divorce cases have cited Facebook as one source with which one spouse discovered incriminating information about the other. This type of information often includes inappropriate chats or photographs.
