2003 court documents have surfaced from Kim Kardashian’s divorce proceedings from then-husband, music producer Damon Thomas, in which she alleges he punched and hit her.
According to the filing, Kardashian was often battered and left bruised by Thomas. Kardashian listed a number of specific incidents in which Thomas attacked her.
“Before we left our home, Damon hit me in the face and cut my lip open,” she stated. “I fell into the bed frame and banged my knee hard.”
The testimony is full of other examples of Thomas choking her, punching her, and slamming her against walls. He allegedly forced her to drop out of university and limited her social interactions. She says that he wanted to know where she was at all times.

A spokesman for Larry King, the 75-year-old CNN broadcaster, announced today that King had filed for divorce from Shawn Southwick, his 50-year-old wife, with whom he has two children.
While King has been married to seven different women, this constitutes his eight divorce as he divorced, remarried, and re-divorced one of his former spouses. King is seeking joint-custody of his children with Southwick, while Southwick is seeking primary custody.
“His major concern is the welfare of his children and beyond that he’ll have no further comment about the divorce,” Howard Rubenstein, King’s spokesman, told Reuters.
Southwick filed her own divorce papers minutes after King did in Los Angeles. Both parties have cited irreconcilable differences.

Schools are not making enough of an effort to include non-residential parents of children with divorced parents, according to new research.
Over 20% of schoolchildren have divorced or separated parents, and studies have found that around two-thirds of non-residential parents, most often the father, do not receive any notifications, reports, or information from the schools their children attend.
Fathers interviewed for the study report feeling marginalized and unwelcome at school events. One child was told that he should only do homework at his mother’s home, so that it was more easily organized.

When a husband and wife consider filing for divorce, there are often issues regarding their property. The division of property in a divorce is somewhat dependent on state laws.
Because Texas is a community property state, the estate must be divided according to certain rules and regulations. Community property includes any assets or income that were acquired or accumulated during the marriage, while separate property includes assets and income from before the marriage.
