A 30 year-old Houston man pleaded guilty earlier this week to two counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of access device fraud.
Video footage from several Houston-area Wal-Marts show the suspect using stolen credit and debit card information. Many of the victims of the man’s identity theft took the stand to testify that they did not know the accused nor did they give him permission to use their credit or debit card information.
Authorities found several gift cards re-encoded with stolen card information from at least 18 different victims from across the country in his hotel room. The man could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
