Drug charges dropped against Houston attorney

Posted on November 14th, 2011 No Comments

Houston attorney Emily Detoto, who once represented the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints leader Warren Jeffs in his child sexual assault case, has recently gotten her drug possession charge dropped.

In June, Detoto was charged with cocaine possession. The district attorney’s office at the 232nd District Court dismissed her case, stating there was no probable cause.

If Detoto was convicted on charges of having less than one gram of a controlled substance, a state jail felony, she could have spent 180 days to two years behind bars and/or fined up to $10,000.

If you or someone you love has been charged with drug possession, contact the Conroe drug crimes lawyers of Garg & Associates at 281-362-2865 today.
