One current employee, one former employee, and a friend are accused of stealing more than $20,000 worth of merchandise from a Journeys shoe store in Deerbrook Mall late last month.

The store’s manager says the suspect who was a current employee at the time of burglary closed the store but left the rear door open and did not set the alarm. She was able to identify his car from the surveillance tape, which shows three people loading boxes into a car.

KTRK reports the suspects took cash, hundreds of pairs of shoes, backpacks, sunglasses, wallets, belts, headphones and toys worth a total of $20,766.
