Teens jailed for vandalizing Pearland ISD football field

Two teenagers were arrested last week after they vandalized The Rig football stadium in Pearland. According to KHOU, one 18-year-old suspect is believed to have damaged the field as a form of retaliation after being kicked off the team.

The high school students caused an estimated $50,000 in damages after they cut out two large pieces of the artificial turf that the Dawson High Eagles and the Pearland High Oilers play on.

Both of the suspects have been charged with criminal mischief, which is a third-degree felony. Their school announced that both students have been banned from walking at their graduation this Friday.
