Tiger Woods and now ex-wife Elin Nordegren finalized their divorce on Monday, August 23, in Panama City’s Bay County Circuit Court in Florida.
Nodegren’s attorney documented grounds of an “irretrievably broken” marriage in response to the evidence that Tiger Woods had affairs with multiple women that has inundated the news media in recent months.
Although the terms of the divorce remain undisclosed, issues of custody, visitation, and finances are said to be settled.
The couple issued a joint statement following the divorce, asking that their privacy be respected and upheld as they “adjust to a new family situation.”

In author Lisa Belkins’ blog for The New York Times, she explores the idea of an amicable divorce. The friendly divorce is defined by, being a divorce “in which agreements are reached in a mediator’s office, or through “collaboration” with a lawyer and maybe a therapist and financial adviser, rather than in a courtroom,” writes Belkins.
Mediation is growing in popularity. Belkins writes that not everyone wants to hate each other after their divorce. Some are concerned that, if there is a possibility to remain friends and stay friendly after a divorce, then there is a possibility to stay in the marriage. With divorce rates rising, it is encouraging to know that people have options, depending on their own personal situation.
If you are exploring your options and want to consider an amicable end to your relationship, contact the Conroe Collaborative Law Attorneys at Garg & Associates, PC, by dialing 281-210-0010 today.

The cost of a divorce in Texas is often difficult to estimate. Divorce expenses may depend on a number of factors.
Some of the most important factors include the length of time needed for both spouses to reach an agreement about how to divide the property and handle child custody. The cost of a divorce may also increase if temporary orders or a trial is necessary.

Going through a divorce may be expensive for both parties. Divorces often require both parties to hire lawyers and go through lengthy divorce proceedings or settlements.
In most cases, each party will be responsible for his or her legal fees. However, in some cases, divorce courts may allow either spouse to use community property to cover the legal expense.
